Couples counseling
Couples counseling is tricky business. Did you know that most licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT's) actually have very little training in doing marital/couples therapy? I have dedicated the last several years of my career to learning as much as I can about how to be an effective couples therapist. While I specialize in working with infidelity issues, a lot of the couples I see have "everyday" problems- poor communication patterns, inability to resolve problems, constant bickering, built-up resentment, lack of connection and intimacy, issues around sex... Whether you're living together, engaged, been married for 50 years, or something in between, give me a call- let's get you on the path to a more fulfilling relationship!

Individual Counseling
I see individuals for a wide variety of issues: some people have mood-related issues such as depression or anxiety; some are engaged in an affair and need help figuring out what they want or need in their relationships; still others would like to do couples work but their partner is unwilling. It's hard to look at your own stuff without someone else to help you "hold up the mirror", so if you're struggling with an issue that's affecting your relationship(s), let me help you hold that mirror. We will examine the good, the bad and the ugly, and together we will change what you see in that mirror to something more pleasing!
Discernment counseling
Discernment counseling is a new branch of couples counseling focused on helping a couple decide if they want to stay together or move toward dissolution of the relationship. Discernment counseling does not involve actual marital therapy; rather the goal is to ascertain if the problems in the relationship can, in fact, be solved. As such, it is short-term, and is a distinct and separate process from marital therapy.

Marriage preparation course
This pre-marital counseling course is a structured collaborative process, broken up into three 50-minute sessions. Prior to your first session, you and your partner complete an in-depth assessment, which we will use as a roadmap for identifying potential problem areas in your relationship.
